Bonfire Kid Pack Awarded Grant

On Thursday, January 27th representatives from Bonfire Ministry attended the Seed Grant Festival at Valley of Peace Lutheran Church to accept the award of a $1,500 grant towards our Kid Pack program.   This grant will help further the goal of bringing food to our hungry children, hope to our families and faith in a future that unites us together. Bonfire is excited and grateful to the Minneapolis Area Synod  Mission Table Committee for selecting us for this award.

Kid Pack 2012 Breakfast and Open House

WHY? Hunger is prevalent in our own back yards.  No child should go hungry.

Hungry children face unnecessary barriers as they strive to become healthy, productive and engaged members of society.   Hunger contributes to poor academic performance and disruptive behavior in the classroom.   Missed meals also increase tardiness and visits to the school nurse.

Community initiatives like Kid Pack are most successful with broad-based community support.   Together, when everyone contributes time, talents or gifts, we can make a positive impact.
